There are also other stories, and most people to don't read about them in the newspapers, but that doesn't mean that they too didn't happen. On 27 November 2006 (19 Montessori 2006 in the Cesidian calendar) a citizen of Taiwan and US resident named Sheh-gni Tsai joined the Fifth World Council (5WC). The nation he endorsed was Taiwan, however, not the usual Micronation one would expect. Of course, nobody that considers himself a Fifth Worlder at heart can be refused membership in the world's most authentic Fifth World organisation, but taking on diplomatic relations with Taiwan is no joking matter, and besides that, the person applying must be a proper diplomatic channel, at least a Minister of Taiwan, and with prior authorisation by the government. So diplomatic recognition of Taiwan was probably out of the question unless, of course, Mr Sheh-gni Tsai also happened to be a Taiwanese Minister. Later Mr Sheh-gni Tsai also registered at the Micronational Professional Registry (MPR), and in effect, went where no Taiwanese had ever gone before! Now the Fifth World Council (5WC) must recognise Taiwan, it has no choice in the matter, since it is obliged to recognise any country, nation, organisation, family, or individual that is endorsed by a Member of the Micronational Professional Registry (MPR), and the Micronational Professional Registry (MPR) must recognise the highly professional Mr Sheh-gni, and the Nation/Micronation he endorses! Of course, the fact that the Fifth World Council (5WC) and the Micronational Professional Registry (MPR) now recognise Taiwan, doesn't imply that Taiwan itself has diplomatic relations, which are possible with at least the Fifth World Council (5WC) and its member nations. The recognition is thus real, but informal and de facto, not formal or de jure, the kind of recognition that would imply higher diplomatic status. The Fifth World Council (5WC) also recognises the United States, and even New York State specifically, but that clearly doesn't mean we have diplomatic relations with New York State -- although I do get along quite well with a New York State Senator on many issues, to be completely frank. Today, the following countries are recognised by the Micronational Professional Registry (MPR), and thus by the Fifth World Council (5WC): USA Canada Chile Italy Switzerland Germany UK Spain Portugal Ethiopia India Australia Taiwan The Micronational Professional Registry (MPR), and thus the Fifth World Council (5WC), also recognises the European Union (EU) as an international organisation, and some individual US states. I have begun by posting a proposal in the FILES section of the group. It is entitled "Lunsford/Chadwick Eco-Village IC Proposal". This proposal was written near the beginning of this year by a friend and I over a several month period. We actually put a significant amount of thought into it and wrote and rewrote the plan several times. It is also safe to say that the current version is not the final version. We both were/are concerned about where the world is heading and decided that an IC or Eco-Village was a good plan for the future. We both read "Creating a Life Together" by Diana Leafe Christian and decided to incorporate as many lessons learned into our plan as possible. The plan includes mission, vision, membership guidelines, guiding principles, financial and practical information. That being said, it also needs to be said that we have learned that situations change -- sometimes very rapidly. Since we wrote the proposal, we have determined that our chosen geographic location, Costa Rica, is simply not workable for us for a variety of reasons (including immigration and financial reasons.) Today's financial society is primarily based on credit, where the creditor holds most of the power and derives virtually all of the financial benefit. We don't believe this is necessarily a good value for an IC and, consequently, chose not to depend upon creditors to finance the venture. That means cash up front to build and Administer an IC. We also recognize that to start an IC of this nature takes lots of money. And money is something we just don't have at the moment. Both of us have recently experienced changes in our financial situations due to unexpected developments in our lives. We have also found that a significant number of people who are generally interested in establishing IC's are pretty much in the same boat -- we aren't, generally speaking, a wealthy group of people. That presents new dillema's that need to be addressed. So, our plan is currently on hold while we put our heads together to find ways to increase our personal assets base, find a new geographic region/environment in which to locate, and find like-minded people who can participate. Any ideas and suggestions you would like to contribute would certainly be appreciated. And by all means, if there are some ideas in our plan that are workable for you, then by all means use them. All penetrating Post-war ideals/practices: Murray N. Rothbard: http://tinyurl.com/ygqxvu < 'Enemy of the State', by Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr. "" Rothbard's principles were, of course, consistent from the time he first put pen to paper, and they made him a lightning rod for controversy and the standard by which all pro-liberty thought is measured to this day. But it was often the application of the principles, as much as the principles themselves, that earned him passionate detractors and defenders. His enemies were also driven crazy by his unfailing good humor: he was completely unflappable, always found joy in smashing evil, and somehow always won in the end. Rothbard was the architect of the body of thought known around the world as libertarianism. This radically anti-state political philosophy unites free-market economics, a no-exceptions attachment to private property rights, a profound concern for human liberty, and a love of peace with the conclusion that society should be completely free to develop absent any interference from the state, which can and should be eliminated. '' '' As Raimondo concludes: "Whether it is exercised upon the minds of this generation, or the next, the liberating force of Rothbard's ideas is gathering momentum. He built a monument to liberty, a mighty edifice that towers over the horizon and cannot be ignored – a challenge and a reproach to the guardians of the status quo, and an inspiration to the revolutionaries of tomorrow." This is the first biography of Murray N. Rothbard, the intellectual godfather of libertarianism and the author of twenty-eight books, hundreds of articles, and a social theorist whose writings encompass not only economics but philosophy, political economy, history, and virtually all the realms of social thought. As an economist, he not only carved out a place for the insights of the "Austrian" (or pure free market) school on American shores, but also expanded and elaborated on the innovations of his mentor and teacher, Ludwig von Mises, the dean of the Austrian school. As a political economist, he mapped out the contours of a truly free society, based on natural law and the concept of self-ownership. As a historian, he rescued the hidden history of liberty, and exposed the underbelly of the power elite. As a student of economic history, he traced the development of economic ideas and showed the way forward to a new way of looking at the evolution of thought - and of human society. As a teacher to a whole generation of libertarian scholars and activists, Rothbard was not only a source of ideas but of inspiration. He was an innovator who fought for his vision of the world, pioneering liberty at a time when they were neither popular nor understood. He dared to speak truth to power-- and never shied away from controversy. AN ENEMY OF THE STATE charts the intellectual odyssey of a man who went from the Old Right to the New Left, traveling through Ayn Rand's circle as well as William F. Buckley's before winding up at a position that transcends the traditional categories of Left and Right -- and point in an entirely new direction. His life was an intellectual adventure -- and an important chapter in the history of ideas. To anyone with an interest in the history of ideas in our time, AN ENEMY OF THE STATE is a must. "" #2. The Duke Non-Rape case, as I see it, is a logical extension to a pattern that is so egregious that all we can do now is damage control. Justice pretty much is dead in the United States. The final blow in this death of a million blows has been the increasing use of conspiracy theories by the prosecution, something that the law forbids, but the courts let it go anyway. Like so many other trends, this one has its intellectual underpinnings in that academic refuse pile we call Post-Modernism. Four years ago, I called then-Attorney General John Ashcroft a "post-modern bureaucrat." Unfortunately, the post-modern application of law is not limited to Washington, D.C. and federal prosecutors, as bad as they are. State prosecutors are doing their best to match the outrages we see on the federal level, and they are encouraged by judges, politicians, and the gaggle of television talking heads that constitute a legal definition of air pollution. We provide publications, referrals, support services, and sharing opportunities for a wide range of intentional communities, cohousing groups, ecovillages, community networks, support organizations, and people seeking a home in community. Intentional Communities have for many centuries been places where idealists have come together to create a better world. Although there are thousands of intentional communities in existence today, and many others in the formative stages, most people are unaware of them or the roots from which they spring. The Fellowship is increasing public awareness of existing and newly forming communities. We offer information and referrals for those who are actively seeking, or simply curious about, alternate lifestyles for themselves and their families. Communities come in all shapes and sizes, and share many similar challenges -- such as defining membership, succeeding financially, distributing resources, making decisions, raising children, dividing work equitably, and choosing a standard of living. Many wrestle with questions about right livelihood, spiritual expression, land use, and the role of service in our lives. At the same time, there is limited awareness of what others are doing to meet these challenges -- and much to gain through sharing information and experiences with others exploring similar paths. The Fellowship documents the visions and experiences of life in community, and actively promotes dialogue and cooperation among communities. Intentional communities are often aware of themselves as different from mainstream culture, and many choose to highlight these differences. Yet, virtually all communities share a common root value of cooperation. The Fellowship facilitates the extension of cooperation beyond membership boundaries and common values, understanding that differences can be a cause for celebration, and an occasion for enrichment and growth. Most scientists prefer to explain away this uniqueness, by claiming that an infinite number of universes must therefore exist, each with unique properties, each randomly different from the other, with ours only seemingly special because in a universe with different properties we would never have originated. I propose the alternative that the special properties of our universe reflect an underlying intelligence, one that is fully consistent with the Big Bang and Darwinian evolution. My understanding is that these papers are the product of a symposium held in Alpbach Austira in the summer of 1968. Participants included numerous well known individuals such as Jerome Bruner, Jean Piaget, Arther Koestler, Ludwig von Bertalanffy. Kauffman As economics attempts to model increasingly complicated phenomena, however, it would do well to shift its attention from physics to biology, because the biosphere and the living things in it represent the most complex systems known in nature. In particular, a deeper understanding of how species adapt and evolve may bring profound--even revolutionary--insights into business adaptability and the engines of economic growth. ]] "" Two fine authors, Richard Dawkins and Daniel Dennett, have written recent books, The God Delusion and Breaking the Spell arguing against religion. Their views are based on contemporary science. But the largest convictions of contemporary science remain based on reductionism. I would like to begin a discussion about the first glimmerings of a new scientific world view — beyond reductionism to emergence and radical creativity in the biosphere and human world. This emerging view finds a natural scientific place for value and ethics, and places us as co-creators of the enormous web of emerging complexity that is the evolving biosphere and human economics and culture. In this scientific world view, we can ask: Is it more astonishing that a God created all that exists in six days, or that the natural processes of the creative universe have yielded galaxies, chemistry, life, agency, meaning, value, consciousness, culture without a Creator. In my mind and heart, the overwhelming answer is that the truth as best we know it, that all arose with no Creator agent, all on its wondrous own, is so awesome and stunning that it is God enough for me and I hope much of humankind. "" "" Introduction Stuart A. Kauffman studies the origin of life and the origins of molecular organization. Thirty-five years ago, he developed the Kauffman models, which are random networks exhibiting a kind of self-organization that he terms "order for free." He asks a question that goes beyond those asked by other evolutionary theorists: if selection is operating all the time, how do we build a theory that combines self-organization (order for free) and selection? The answer lies in a "new" biology: "While it may sound as if 'order for free' is a serious challenge to Darwinian evolution, it's not so much that I want to challenge Darwinism and say that Darwin was wrong. I don't think he was wrong at all. I have no doubt that natural selection is an overriding, brilliant idea and a major force in evolution, but there are parts of it that Darwin couldn't have gotten right. One is that if there is order for free — if you have complex systems with powerfully ordered properties — you have to ask a question that evolutionary theories have never asked: Granting that selection is operating all the time, how do we build a theory that combines self-organization of complex systems — that is, this order for free — and natural selection? There's no body of theory in science that does this. There's nothing in physics that does this, because there's no natural selection in physics — there's self organization. Biology hasn't done it, because although we have a theory of selection, we've never married it to ideas of self-organization. One thing we have to do is broaden evolutionary theory to describe what happens when selection acts on systems that already have robust self-organizing properties. This body of theory simply does not exist." (From "Order for Free", Chapter 20, The Third Culture, 1995) In the following essay, Kauffman frames a new scientific world view of emergence and ceaseless creativity, which, he notes, is "awesome in what has come to pass in reality, and God enough for me and many, where God is the creativity of the universe, yielding a global ethics of respect for all life, the planet, awe, wonder and spirituality cut free from a transcendent God." — JB STUART A. Could nonviolence have worked against even the most evil regimes in history? Kurlansky draws from history twenty-five provocative lessons on the subject that we can use to effect change today. He shows how, time and again, violence is used to suppress nonviolence and its practitioners–Gandhi and Martin Luther King, for example; that the stated deterrence value of standing national armies and huge weapons arsenals is, at best, negligible; and, encouragingly, that much of the hard work necessary to begin a movement to end war is already complete. I then got kicked out of the FSP because of my interpretation of the statement of intent "I hereby state my solemn intent to move to the selected state of the FSP. Once there, I will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the sole role of civil government is the protection of life, liberty, and property." it was my claim that the basis of property rights was labor as the natural extension of the right of self-ownership and because land was not the product of human labor it could only be considered conditional property as it is confered via privilege and as such the term "property" had to be broken down into: 1. labor-based property which is absolute and any taxation there of was theft. 2. law-based property which is conditional upon the equal and direct sharing of the return on land called economic rent inorder to uphold the labor-based property rights of those being excluded. this went in front of the board and they agreed to re-instate me because the great modern libertarians Albert J. Nock and Frank Chodorov held the same geo-libertarian views as I did. subsequently they went ahead and changed the SOI once again to "the maximal role of civil government" from "the sole role of civil government" inorder to accomodate the anarchists (the president of the organization was a self-proclaimed anarchist).. .I have asked them to explicitly accomodate "left-libertarianis m" but they have refused saying it would narrow the focus of the movement. so most people believe that left and right libertarianism is defined by whether or not you emphasize civil liberties or economic liberties... I believe this is a false trade-off. what defines left vs. right libertarianism is the extent to which one adheres to a radical Lockean approach to property rights and ownership... Locke, the "father of western, enlightenment property rights", believed that everything that pre-exists human labor (the entire material universe) starts out owned in common as an individual equal access opportunity right so long as one does not infringe on the equal rights of any other individual to the same it is justly "enclosed" (used/accessed) for exclusive private use 'SO LONG AS ONE HAS LEFT ENOUGH AND AS GOOD IN COMMON FOR OTHERS" - this is called Locke's proviso. to the extent that economic rent attaches to locations under scarce conditiona defines the extent that Locke's proviso is being violated. this is the dirty little secret that most all right libertarians can not agree with because they will then have to give up their mantra that all taxation is theft because the prescription from a radical Lockean perspective is that the excluders collecting economic rent from those they exclude is theft and that a land value tax rather than being a tax actually upholds the absolute right that the excluded have to their labor. using this Lockean property rights analysis I can solve the global warming in the exact same way...global warming is nothing more than some enclosing the use of sky as a carbon sink beyond the sustainable yield (Locke's proviso - enough and as good) and the resulting negative externalities is nothing more than a tax on the wages of those being excluded. yes many towns are still run via town meeting in NH and what makes it even more viable then VT direct democracy is that we only have local property tax while VT has a state sales and income tax...so we have much more local control and hence as a result we are the lowest taxed state per capita income in the country. hope this helps.. bg "" #1. Ascribe to them the government of their wards in all things relating to themselves exclusively. A justice chosen by themselves, in each a constable, a military company, a patrol, a school, the care of their own poor, their own portion of the public roads, the choice of one or more jurors to serve in some court, and the delivery within their own wards of their own votes for all elective officers of higher sphere, will relieve the county administration of nearly all its business, will have it better done, and by making every citizen an acting member of the government, and in the offices nearest and most interesting to him, will attach him by his strongest feelings to the independence of his country and its republican Constitution." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. [李遠哲籲索`統考量去留]Agree, BUT 228 justice be done #1000 "" [Tsai Sheh-gni 06.11.10, 00:15-1:15am #1] I have not participated in your polling so far. But, I have been very anxious and somewhat worried. Now I think our Taiwanese level of freedom and the rule of laws is such that we don't have to be afraid, even if the ROC President Chen resigned in appropriate and wise way. I don't know whether the prosecuter Chen is legal or constitutional to investigate and implicate the President in his prosecution. But, I think he, as a very consienteous prosecutor and a deeply committed green comrade of the President, that he is sincere in his desire to help to establish and protect our nation. And, frankly I don't know whether the President is innocent or not, once he allowed to be investigated (which maybe unconstitutional as the President?) But, I agree with Dr. Lee that he and all Taiwanese citizens could seriously examine, discuss, and seek all alternatives, including resignation or temporary leave. I agree with Dr. Lee that this matter is "台灣司法邁出獨立的一大步,也是二ΟΟΟ年政黨輪替的偉大果實", and that " 二ΟΟΟ年政黨輪替的教訓告訴我們,在貪腐中不知悔改的政黨,必然會遭到人民唾棄', so that it "意味著台灣舊體制的改革與民主政治核心價值的建立正遭遇嚴峻的挑戰", AND ".那麼陳總統與執政黨就必需在「小我」與「大我」、「政黨」與「國家」之間,做出正確的抉擇。因此,值此時刻,我誠懇建議:陳總統有必須慎重考慮去留的問題." But, it's NOT JUST " 重點不是犯錯,而是知過能改,並且改過遷善". BUT ALSO, all political mistakes, particularly wrongs to the level of "CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY", has to be resolved by JUSTICE! It can never be resolved just by "知過能改,並且改過遷善". That's why I have repeatedly suggested here also that it is all our Taiwanese citizens' moral and legal responsibility to get justice SOON on 228 massacre and the white terror rule of the KMT. Only after that, we could be truly free. Any ideas and suggestions would be highly appreciated. ""

However, my point goes back to my idea of how the monotheism of Judeo-Christian-Islams originated in the Mideast near the harsh desert, has molded and CHANGED the Western civilization. Most civioizations started around rivers and seas, softer and freeer and more moderate. So Confucius taught about human relationships (jen which also means human) and the middle-way (Jung-yung, also means center and ordinary), even in that centuries old giant central authority coping with gigantic Yellow River floods. Again, why "fundamentlism, extremism, and terrorism"? Even in the USA with the almost-only-in America history of monkey court trial and bombings of abortion offices.
